Application:

Nexans FORTIS TR XLPE-PE AL cable is especially suitable for solar parks in northeastern Brazil, where the presence of termites damages buried cables and with a padding system and metal shielding, they are specifically designed for direct buried installations, as established by NBR 14039, resisting the most severe installation conditions and load cycles typical of renewable energy sources.

Construction:

1. Conductor: Formed of aluminum wires, round compacted, blocked against longitudinal water penetration, class 2 stranding, according to NBR NM 280.

2. Conductor shielding: Extruded thermosetting semiconductor compound.

3. Insulation: Layer of thermosetting compound based on cross-linked polyethylene resistant to arborescence - type TR XLPE, of great thermal stability for operating temperature in permanent regime of up to 90ºC, meeting the physical requirements prescribed by NBR 6251.

4. Insulation shielding: Non-metallic shielding based on semiconductor extruded thermosetting compound, free-strippable type.

5. Mechanical barrier / termite protection: Consists of a physical barrier to protect the core of the cable, guaranteeing the integrity and performance of the dielectric system, which allows operational continuity in accordance with the cable's original design. The mechanical reinforcement barrier, which prevents invasive agents from getting through and consequently exposing or even damaging the dielectric, is consolidated by a double layer of tape (one made of copper and the other of laminated binding material) applied helically so as not to compromise flexibility or minimum bending radius, not generating additional electrical losses and without compromising or causing environmental impacts, guaranteeing the recycling cycle and the Product Environmental Profile - PEP of FORTIS TR XLPE-PE AL cables, in accordance with NEXANS environmental policy.

6. Metallic shield: Consists of a crown of bare copper wires, blocked against longitudinal water penetration and connected to the metallic barrier for the equipotentialization of the different protections, resulting in a minimum shield section of 16mm².

7. Cover: Extruded layer of thermoplastic polyethylene (PE) type ST7, FORTIS, acting as a first barrier with repellent additive, in black, with high mechanical characteristics, impermeability and reduced coefficient of friction and with characteristics in accordance with specification NBR 6251.

Identification:

They are supplied in black with sequential marking of footage.

Operating regime:

The thermal limits in operating regime are in accordance with ABNT NBR 6251.

Permanent regime: 90ºC
Overload regime: 130ºC
Short-circuit regime: 250ºC
